Is Joaquin Phoenix Hip Hop Career a Hoax?

After Joaquin Phoenix performance last month at a Las Vegas nightclub hit the Internet, speculations have been swirling on whether his Rap career  is real or a practical joke. 
 
Joaquin adamantly denies that his Hip Hop career is a hoax.  That he is definitely giving up his acting career to become a Hip Hop artist, and have been laying tracks for his Rap album at his home recording studio. 
 
When asked about his Hip Hop career while promoting his "last movie"  Two Lover," the Academy Award nominee said, "There’s not a hoax,” Phoenix said. “Might I be ridiculous? Might my career in music be laughable? Yeah, that’s possible, but that’s certainly not my intention.”
